As a college student, I had a very supportive family but I wanted to be independent. Having an outside source of wisdom, that did not come from my family, was exactly what I needed.

I'm an assertiveness coach who works with young people transitioning to college. When looking at other college prep books, I was overwhelmed by the density of the text. They didn’t feel accessible or fun, like college should. I wanted a workbook. Something that would guide young people through exercises to discover things about themselves, rather than be told what they should feel, do, or believe. I created 21 Strategies for Thriving at College for you.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Portland State University and received a coaching certification from the International Coaching Federation after training at Coach Training World in 2015. I have worked with women's crisis organizations and police bureaus on violence prevention and self-defense programs for women and girls.
